Question by RU4REAL?: I believe that being a “successful human” means accepting the fact that there are no “true” answers…
…to any philosophical questions we can imagine…
In other words…we need to accept the fact that “Life” is undiscernible, paradoxiacal, unplanned, chaotic, sometimes orderly, sometimes profound, sometimes kaleidoscopic, sometimes meaningless, sometimes meaningful, sometimes great, sometimes bad, most times non-sensical, forever and always a “mystery,” and first and foremost an extremely “horny-yet-intellectual” experience…
Do you relate to what I just wrote…?

Answer by Nothingusefullearnedinschool
Partially. Because I believe that if we have sufficient information, we can understand anything. Yes, life is a mystery, but because our knowledge is so limited.

Question by Gerry: What happens to NASCAR auto racing if one day we all convert to alternative fuel?
I follow NASCAR only periodically – I have a favorite racer; however, after researching where the “Big 3″ are going with electric powered cars (as well as the other manufacturers) and current initiatives underway by all to develop these cars – I am curious to know if NASCAR will follow suit or will they continue with fuel operated cars.
NASCAR is a great sport for a lot of dedicated fans – arguably can be considered the largest sport in North America. (Personally I am first and foremost an NHL Hockey fan, and as a Southern Californian who went to USC a BIG Trojan Football Fan – sports aside – this is a serious question).
I am looking for intelligent answers here – something that will allow me to do some research for fun. I recently was shown the new Chevy (by the engineer who designed it) that will be out in 3 years – all electric, and I am not big on the “quality” of American made cars; however, I have to admit this one REALLY caught my eye.

It reached number thirty on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The track was produced by Rick Rubin, his first hip hop production in many years. Rubin provided Jay-Z with the type of stripped-down beat that was once his trademark. To construct the beat, Rubin used samples of “The Big Beat” by Billy Squier, and “Long Red” by Mountain. Although it remains uncredited, “99 Problems” also contains samples of “Get Me Back on Time, Engine No. 9″ by Wilson Pickett.[citation needed] The title and chorus are taken from Ice-T’s “99 Problems” from his 1993 album Home Invasion. The song featured Brother Marquis of 2 Live Crew. Portions of Ice-T’s original lyrics were similarly quoted in a song by fellow rapper Trick Daddy on a track unsurprisingly titled “99 Problems” from his 2001 album Thugs Are Us. Jay-Z begins his third verse directly quoting lines from Bun B’s opening verse off Touched, from the UGK album Ridin’ Dirty On July 6, 2008, more than four years after the song’s initial release, “99 Problems” entered the UK Singles Chart at #35 (after reachind #12 on initial release). This was attributed to Jay-Z’s appearance at Glastonbury and the O2 Wireless Festival, two popular British summer music festivals. On January 21, 2009, Jay-Z performed the song …
Question by : Solid information about marijuana legalization?
First and foremost, I am not a stoner, but I do feel that marijuana being illegal is ridiculous. I have searched around on the internet, but most of the content is random forum posts and old info.
I would like some solid information about any current movements and the likelihood of marijuana becoming legal in the near future. I understand California may pass a law for medicinal marijuana (i believe that is what it is over) and that seems to be marijuana’s best chance. Thanks for any input.
Best answer:
Answer by J.M.
First of all, marijuana is legal in California for medicinal purposes. There is no current information about marijuana becoming legal in the foreseeable future. However, within your life time you will probably see it become legalized. As the generation of lawmakers retire a younger generation, and more radical one, will replace them. As this happens the view points will change regarding marijuana and its legality. It is unfortunate however that marijuana will become legal. Although Tylenol is responsible for more deaths a year than marijuana, it is impossible to see the moral decay it will have on our society. It is my opinion that the more liberal our nation becomes on drug regulation the more our moral stability will crumble.

Question by kimmycat: Is it wrong of me to let my children believe that there is a Santa Claus?
I want my children to believe that there is a such thing as Santa Claus. There are some that I know (mostly from church) that believe I am doing them a disservice by letting them believe such a thing. I also let them know the true meaning of CHRISTmas first and foremost. whats the big deal, why should kids be grown-up so soon?
Best answer:
Answer by MithrilHawk
We told our kids that I’m Santa Claus. For a while they assumed I was serious, then they assumed I was kidding, now they are not at all traumatized that there is no magical elf flying around handing out presents.
I got that idea from someone else and I’m glad he shared it.

A re-done version of part one of my Monty Pony and the Holy Grail video. The old video had problems with the audio being too faint. I cranked up the volume on this one and re-published, and also tried to improve some of the syncing and removed some wasted time in the credits. I hope the volume is high enough now… Any louder, and it started sounding really bad, so I had to leave it here. Description from original video: This is the first of what I hope will be a continuing series of videos, covering the entirety of Monty Python and the Holy Grail (abridged by ponies!) Hopefully, my ambition doesn’t exceed my abilities by TOO much
Obviously, I had to cut a lot of stuff out… I apologize if I’ve cut your favorite scene or dialogue. Credit where it is due: First and foremost to the members of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, who had an enormous impact on me and my sense of humor while I was growing up Second, to Hasbro and the Hub, and the writers and artists who worked on My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, for creating a wonderful show that appeals both to children and adults. Part two will be coming along… whenever I have time! And it will include a newly remade version of my Canterlot video, using some of the suggestions that people have sent me
Thank you, and enjoy!

Question by frostwizrd: I have repititious, annoying habits that are weird and very difficult for me to stop. What do I do?
When I was little (I’m 21 now), I used to have what my grandmother scoldingly referred to has my “habits”. They were generally strange physical movements that I would do repetitively both knowingly and unknowingly. My “habits” varied greatly in what exactly they were, but some examples foremost in my mind would be nodding of the head, huffing air (not chemicals, this is a substance abuse I’m talking about
) until my lungs were completely full, clicking the back of my throat, and so on. Often times these repetitious activities would annoy me, but I found them very difficult to stop. Eventually, a specific habit would cease, but sooner or later a new habit (or an old one) always surfaced in its place.
The thing is that I still have this problem, except that my “habits” are a bit more subtle. Some of the things I currently do are: bending the knuckles of my thumbs, clicking my throat, huffing air, closing my eyes tightly, tapping the tip of my tongue against the roof of my mouth..
.. digging the nail of my left thumb underneathe my right thumb; and many strange things that are very difficult to explain, but usually involve an extremely subtle movement or breathing motion.
All of these activities are accompanied by a need to “accomplish them thouroughly”. Again, this is a feeling that is very difficult for me to articulate. For instance, when I huff air, I almost always feel like I must inhale until my lungs are stretched and until I get a feeling similar to that of yawning. Also, when I tap my tongue to the roof of my mouth, I feel like I have to keep doing it until I do it just perfect, which is pretty much never; I’ll just keep doing it until I forcefully stop myself. Often times, I will stop everything I’m doing to accomplish that sense of “completeness”, but it never last for long; eventually I’ll have to do something like that again.
I haven’t told many people about this because no one can relate.
I’m just concerned because it’s getting worse. Thx!
Regarding the possibilty of seizures:
I personally doubt this because everything is voluntary in the sense that if I click, I know that making the decision to do it. However, the problems is that I can’t figure out why the crap I’m doing it. I don’t want to, but I.. I.. lol I have no idea. ![]()
