Foremost Q&A: What happens to NASCAR auto racing if one day we all convert to alternative fuel?

Question by Gerry: What happens to NASCAR auto racing if one day we all convert to alternative fuel?
I follow NASCAR only periodically – I have a favorite racer; however, after researching where the “Big 3″ are going with electric powered cars (as well as the other manufacturers) and current initiatives underway by all to develop these cars – I am curious to know if NASCAR will follow suit or will they continue with fuel operated cars.

NASCAR is a great sport for a lot of dedicated fans – arguably can be considered the largest sport in North America. (Personally I am first and foremost an NHL Hockey fan, and as a Southern Californian who went to USC a BIG Trojan Football Fan – sports aside – this is a serious question).

I am looking for intelligent answers here – something that will allow me to do some research for fun. I recently was shown the new Chevy (by the engineer who designed it) that will be out in 3 years – all electric, and I am not big on the “quality” of American made cars; however, I have to admit this one REALLY caught my eye.

your best bet is Ontrack. They looked at a drive at a company that I was on-site at and the charge was £75 but they got the data back.

A lot depends on how much that data is worth to you as this price was over 5 years ago.

You can get them out and see what you want to charge you.

Come on guys the boot sectors screwed how are you going to read anything on it, In Dos you could use Fdisk /mbr to repair

Data Erasure Q&A: LMAO!! Is anybody else laughing hard at this? CLEAR private data up for grabs?

Question by Fastermaster: LMAO!! Is anybody else laughing hard at this? CLEAR private data up for grabs?
Check out this link. I am laughing my head off. I have constantly warned people that they should not blindly trust the government or anyone to guard their personal data.
But so many people said “Oh, but I have nothing to hide.” or “But I am sure that it is necessary for safety.” or “But we have to combat terrorism any way we can.”

SUCKERS!! I cannot believe you fell for it! And, frankly, I told you so.

Guess what?
250,000 people decided that giving up a lot of personal data was better than having to wait in lines for TSA screening. So they paid a fee and gave up their personal, business, and travel information to this company and, presumably, DHS, with the promise that the data were going to be used to stop terrorism and give them convenience. Now the company is out of business, and the data will be sold to the highest bidder.
LMAO all over the floor. Guess what? If you trusted these people and the Bush administration to look out for your interests, guard your privacy, and protect you, you just lost BIG TIME.

They will probably sell the data to Halliburton, identity thieves, or hey.. why not terrorists, right?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31590378/ns/travel-news/

My favorite !!SUCKERS!! quote:
In addition to information such as Social Security numbers and home addresses, Clear took eye scans, fingerprints and digital photos of every one of its approximately 260,000 members.

And do not forget the SUCH AS part… I bet they even have your mother’s maiden name. This is priceless.
Yeah.Sara. It is scary. That is why I told people over and over not to do it, but they did it anyway, and look what happened. They were PROMISED that the data would be totally secure, but oh well. The TSA and DHS greenlighted this company years ago. All of these people are at risk now because of G.W. Bush.
God Bless America
Read the article Maxwell, and tell me who is to blame.
Ck. You do not understand the problem do you? All contractual obligations are null and void. The data are now available to whoever gets control of that company. Will they destroy the data? How will anyone ever know? Still can’t be skeptical can you? You want to believe so badly, don’t you?
Maxwell. I dont do any of those. No credit cards, no ATMs, no statements. Haaha. Do you? OOPS.
Cash baby. See how much trouble you avoid? What have you given up for convenience? You never thought about it til now did you?
So Maxwell, I guess you are advocating that Obama dissolve the TSA and break up DHS, is that it? Can I quote you on that?
President George W. Bush signed the bill that created the TSA in November 2001. Period. If he were intelligent, he would have known he was creating a group of bungling secret police that could obtain and lose citizens’ private data.
Maxwell, believe it or not, it is true. You go ahead and be vulnerable. I stopped that denial behaviour years ago.
no loans. no cable. no rentals. no leases. no internet purchases. Maxwell, Maxwell, you are probably too young to realize that it always ends this way. I am a big WHO fan… I won’t get fooled again. You do the same. Good luck.
Prefer and enjoy your convenient life, bud. baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

[Foremost Video] Jay Z – 99 Problems

See Music Videos www.bvmtv.com that you CAN’T See on You Tube! even some X RATED music videos! +Live Chat and Embed video codes. “99 Problems” is the third single released by American rapper Jay-Z in 2003 from The Black Album. It reached number thirty on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The track was produced by Rick Rubin, his first hip hop production in many years. Rubin provided Jay-Z with the type of stripped-down beat that was once his trademark. To construct the beat, Rubin used samples of “The Big Beat” by Billy Squier, and “Long Red” by Mountain. Although it remains uncredited, “99 Problems” also contains samples of “Get Me Back on Time, Engine No. 9″ by Wilson Pickett.[citation needed] The title and chorus are taken from Ice-T’s “99 Problems” from his 1993 album Home Invasion. The song featured Brother Marquis of 2 Live Crew. Portions of Ice-T’s original lyrics were similarly quoted in a song by fellow rapper Trick Daddy on a track unsurprisingly titled “99 Problems” from his 2001 album Thugs Are Us. Jay-Z begins his third verse directly quoting lines from Bun B’s opening verse off Touched, from the UGK album Ridin’ Dirty On July 6, 2008, more than four years after the song’s initial release, “99 Problems” entered the UK Singles Chart at #35 (after reachind #12 on initial release). This was attributed to Jay-Z’s appearance at Glastonbury and the O2 Wireless Festival, two popular British summer music festivals. On January 21, 2009, Jay-Z performed the song

Data Erasure Q&A: Can I store data (like on an external drive) on an iPod and still use it to play my music and videos?

Question by privatebiscuit: Can I store data (like on an external drive) on an iPod and still use it to play my music and videos?
I’ve used my iPod as an external drive to move data from on Mac to another with no difficulty, but I cleared it of music and video’s first. That was a 4th generation model 20GB. Now iPods have more space than my Hard Drive (MacBook) and I only have around 30GB of media and I am wanting to know if I would be able to use a 160GB model to act as both music/video player and external drive for data.

Data recovery Q&A: Casio SF-6500SY Data Recovery?

Question by Enquirer: Casio SF-6500SY Data Recovery?
Hey guys,
I have a Casio Digital Organizer (Model SF-6500SY). I know that it’s a very old unit, and with today’s technology, why would I even use such a device??? But it is a handy item, and I feel comfortable with it too.

So here’s my problem, recently it just stopped working. I tried everything, switching batteries and even changing the memory battery in the back…

Is there any way to recover the device? If not would there be any way to recover the data inside??

Foremost Q&A: Solid information about marijuana legalization?

Question by : Solid information about marijuana legalization?
First and foremost, I am not a stoner, but I do feel that marijuana being illegal is ridiculous. I have searched around on the internet, but most of the content is random forum posts and old info.
I would like some solid information about any current movements and the likelihood of marijuana becoming legal in the near future. I understand California may pass a law for medicinal marijuana (i believe that is what it is over) and that seems to be marijuana’s best chance. Thanks for any input.

Best answer:

Answer by J.M.
First of all, marijuana is legal in California for medicinal purposes. There is no current information about marijuana becoming legal in the foreseeable future. However, within your life time you will probably see it become legalized. As the generation of lawmakers retire a younger generation, and more radical one, will replace them. As this happens the view points will change regarding marijuana and its legality. It is unfortunate however that marijuana will become legal. Although Tylenol is responsible for more deaths a year than marijuana, it is impossible to see the moral decay it will have on our society. It is my opinion that the more liberal our nation becomes on drug regulation the more our moral stability will crumble.

Data Recovery Tools Q&A: Is there any FREE software I can download to recover all data (not just scan the sectors) for my USB drive?

Question by oresco2001: Is there any FREE software I can download to recover all data (not just scan the sectors) for my USB drive?
I don’t want to have to pay because I really believe there’s free software out there I can use and I am a broke student. I have wav files, doc files and jpg files on there that I had just finished working on. I tried some sites and the closest I got was a software that scanned for free but required payment for recovery. I am not permitted to work in this country so please… I don’t want anyone telling me “pay like we all have to”. I’ld rather not hear your response. Thanks

Sounds like a job for Knoppix. Knoppix is awesome. It is a Linux LiveCD which was created by a German Software Consultant for use as a diagnostic and recovery tool on Windows as well as Linux OSes. You can boot it from a CD or from a pen drive, and it is absolutely great at recovering files from drives which have tanked. You can get it bound with a book called “Hacking Knoppix” which is about $ 40 if you can afford it and I’ll send you to a brick and mortar bookstore rather than provide a link, if you are a student you can ask around your campus Computer Science Department to see if anyone can give you a copy or even recover your files, or you can download it and burn it to disk yourself. I’ve also linked to a Wikipedia document called Knowing Knoppix, and a specific page from it about USB drives. I’d say give it a look. (it does not install Linux into the computer you are using it on, and is not quite as difficult to use as a fully installed Linux System).

Data recovery Q&A: need some help with data recovery very very badly don’t know what to do?

Question by blueversuviusx: need some help with data recovery very very badly don’t know what to do?
ok so i know this guy we’ve known eachother through college.
he calls me up and says he has a virus and wants me to fix it for him.
so i say ok. he pays me 65 and i take it and start trying to remove the virus. well this virus wont let me take it off. so i take it out of the desktop and scan it with another computer and guess what. this virus just won’t come off. so i tell him the best thing to do is back up the files and use the image that he has. so he agrees. i don’t charge him for the data migration. so i back up the files apply the image and bring it back to him. he’s happy. 3 days later he calls me telling me there are files missing that he needs in order to graduate with his masters degree. so i remote desktop into his computer and we try to scan his hd for old files. well we scan and nothing comes up. there is no new data to be found. he never backed up any of these files ever anywhere and now he is holding me responsible and hes saying stuff like i came to you because i knew you would take care of me and i need you to take responsibility for this. what else can i do. because i know i’m running out of options. i don’t know what else to do. he thinks im responsible and i know i’m not. esepcially when i never even charged him for it. i don’t know what to do. we have scanned his HD 3 times and i’m currently as i write this scanning my external as well. he has until may 3rd to write a 13 page paper that he refuses to rewrite. its currently april 12th. i really think this guy should just start over. it happens. this is a very unperfect world. he demands guarantees and warranties when i never sold him one. he says that if i can’t help him recover the files he wants me to help him find someone who will. i don’t know what to do. we used getdataback. and i think its probably the best. if anyone knows of something else i can or another program that is better. please post and let me know. i’m desperate. this guy will not get off my back. he keeps calling and calling and calling…and i just want this to be over with.
